Thankful

As a child, long ago,
a spirit with Father above;
I spent my time listening to His word
as He taught of peace, and love.

Then one day He called me forth,
He sent me here to Earth.
To join my family here, below,
upon my day of birth.

I spent my youth learning things
like how to love and care.
I learned to work, and how to play,
I learned to give, to share.

As an adult, with wife and kids,
I had to learn to teach;
So my own kids would learn, and grow,
their potential for to reach.

I give my thanks to God above
for all I have in life:
Sisters, parents, grandchildren,
children, and my wife.
