"Testimony of 2020"

Its only a matter of time before the flame dies out

Only mere moments before no one hears you shout

You're trapped in a hole, its dark and bitter cold

Everything starts to fade as you become old

So worn out by all the mistakes in your life

Wondering if you'll ever get the chance to make it right

The smile you once had is broken and decayed

The debt you've accumulated can never be repaid

So you lay in bed at night, you toss and you turn

Wondering "Does it matter? Will anybody learn?"

Trapped in this cage that you call your head

Thinking to yourself "Its better if Im dead"

The blows you've taken create wounds that cannot heal

But everyone says forget it, its not a big deal

So you still attempt to smile amidst all the pain

Clinging to some hope so you dont go insane

You put your walls up amd reinforce them too

Hoping and praying that nobody gets through

Then one day that person comes around

You start to relax and tear your walls down

They learn your ways and alot about you

They understand the things you had to go through

You laugh and smile and make many memories

You both create a song with a special melody

Then one day the pain creeps back in

You promised you'd never let it surface again

Then all of a sudden you become "numb"

You tell yourself "How could I be so dumb?"

She see it now and she doesn't wanna stay

So all we had is thrown right down the drain

She finds somebody else & says that shes happy

But yet your stuck alone dealing with the misery

You're scared to talk because now the pain is worse

So you turn to drugs to numb that curse

You cut yourself because you wanna bleed

You tell yourself "This is all I need"

You keep ur distance away from everyone

The damage that occured can never be undone

So youre right back where you started

A damaged lost soul...hurting and brokenhearted
