Dusty Old Road

When I did travel down the Dusty Old Road, I carried along a tiresome load.
I never seemed able to set it on down, for by it’s great weight I was surely held bound.
I thought”This is life, this is all there will be.”Never knowing or seeing any rest there for me.
People past by me, still others fell behind. As if we were racing to the end of our time.
Then it did happened on the Dusty Old Road. I fell beneath that tiresome load!
I cried out in anguish”Is this it for me! Is the Dusty Old Road all that I’ll ever see?”
So I cried out to Jesus on the Dusty Old Road”Please help me Lord Jesus to set down this load!”
Right then he answered my sorrowful plight! He lifted my head and my heart became light!
I then felt the love that he gave unto me! I was no longer blinded and now I could see!
That the Road is not Dusty, nor is it Old! For it’s made with his Love and paved with his Gold!
