Dear Darling,

Detached and empty of emotions,
Your look is frozen back in time, smiling in pictures left
I never got to say goodbye
How do I come to terms with death?

If I could have at least one day, one hour left,
I would convey the love I failed to show you in due time
Immersed in life’s turmoil, I didn’t expect Death
Yet, that night, veiled in lace, she slipped inside without recounting
                                          why
And hand in hand you passed away and never said goodbye.

Your presence is so bold engraved
In things and lives, you often touched
I wish to reach you with my hand
And never fear discontent… but I draw back
How can I come to terms with death?

If I could fast forward the time and see you, yet again,
Whirlpool of happiness, pouring as rain,
Would wipe away my tears……., but I must wait….
For now, my mind is numb; my heart is filled with much regret
I never got to say goodbye and I can’t come to terms with death.
