Love of nature

Bestowed upon your world
To make your life easy and joyful,
I, a tree was showered like blessing upon your planet
I feed Adam and Eve, and the infinite generations
since then filling their bellies with palatable food.
But you never valued my existence
and never paid any attention.
Providing relief on sunny afternoons
I am a blessing, and a boon.
My beauty is unique and can’t be admired by all,
The Shakespearean and the Elizabethan
saw me with potential in their eyes,
but gone are the days and the admirers.
Now you have devoid acres and acres of land of me.
Does the sight of barren lands please you?
Is there no limit to your thirst, no satisfaction to your wants?
Still, I invite you to come to play, live and love in my womb
providing you with shade and relief in parched hours
hoping someday you will love me as I love you.
