Freedom Just Ain't Free ~ Aug. 27, 2020

I saw the flag pass by one day.
 It tumbled in the breeze.
 Two young soldiers corrected it,
And then they stood as ease.

Way out yonder in No Man's Land,
They fight for what's true and right.
Freedom just ain't free, remember folks,
They fight for freedom's light.

When for home do they long and pine,
And when in death they feel alone,
They perish with a name on their lips,
Knowing they ain't coming back home.

Friends and families alike,
They know it ain't ever easy.
Test after test, they'll make it through.
So no, freedom just ain't free.
