 War, what is it good for? 

 Pitting nation against nation, 

 Leaving folk dead, ill, and sore, 

 Aye! It tears our peace away! 

 The cold hard truth, Alas! 

 Everything in war is rationed. 

 Soldiers on the frontlines have no solace 

 As the world, they knew, crumbles away. 

 Folk don't ask and soldiers don't tell 

 Yet all know that the artillery 

 Kill left and right. Ain't that swell? 

War, what is it good for?
