2020/10/02-07 ~ Lies Of Life

I see the clouds and the darkness within.
I see the moon and its pearly whiteness.
Man, they say everything will be alright.
But how much of those truths are really lies?

Looking out the window, all I see is rain,
The rain that became my heart’s pain.
They say everything heals, just give it time
But how do I put their lies into rhyme?

Well-intentioned beliefs, they may be,
Or maybe I just take things too literally.
Do I know how to decipher the truth?
Or is life just one big ruse?

Death walks in, so brazen bold
Stretching out his fingers, oh so cold.
Then he breaks Life’s thin safety veil.
He brings to life his falsehoods and tales.

Piercing the veil; from darkness to light,
Sometimes things aren’t always black and white.
Betrayals from all sides, from those loved most
Showing that lies are truths to their hosts.

They say it’s better to fall in love for one night
Than to never know what love is your whole life.
Man, that’s where they’re oh so wrong.
It’s just another lie of Life’s all along.

The lies of Life are numerous
And days to Death do number us.
We live in a world of deals
And the lies of Life say our fate is sealed.
