Untitled ~ Oct. 08, 2020

Cheyenne Seaman 2003 (Philadelphia)

Snow drifts all around.
My lonely heart makes a roll call.
I think I see your face around town,
But you’re not there if I fall.

My heart longs and pines
To be rid of this feeling of being in love.
Yet, I feel the love in my soul is entwined
And someday, it’ll carry me away like a dove.

Gone for months, officially a soldier,
When, my love, will you come back home?
I know we’ve never been together,
But when you’re gone, I feel alone.

This pain in my soul, mind, and heart
Is slowly making me feel so weak.
It’s tearing me apart.
Somehow, it’s like, you’re my strength.

You’re my muse, my rhythm in blues
And I long to know what your love is like.
Maybe too blunt, but it’s the God-honest truth
As you’re the one for whom my heart and soul pines.
