~ One Glass or Two ~

You were too thirsty to wait for love
You took it too fast, too far,
Moments like these are meant to last, and brew
When one glass would do, you had two
Love can't be hurried, it can't be acquired
It must simmer, and be admired
Like a fine wine, the longer in vats, the more robust
The more it's desired, the more you lust
Seems to me you ran with your own mind
before it was ever time
Now you sit and ponder what went wrong
When there was nothing to wonder
The bottle you were under,
 you thought you were strong
When all along I was gone
Slowly sip, instead of gulp,
would have brought you that tasty love

Yvonne Sensing

I've been writing since I was a kid...I enjoy putting thoughts onto paper it's like clearing out my mind. I'm not saying I'm good, but I try. Still I write, but the thoughts in my head get jumbled and it all comes out wrong. I know what I want to say, I hope it comes out that way. Anyway, I still write maybe to leave a little piece of me behind. Not here to cause trouble or be a hero. I am a kind person with a big heart and I only do what makes me feel good. Poetry happens to make me very happy and joyful. Sharing my most inner thoughts makes me a target it seems, with folks that don't like me. I assure I am not a hater, but I will stand up for myself for what's right and true. This site has made me feel like were all family and here for each other not a place to bicker and fight among us, but to enjoy each others work with respect and love. Please understand I am not here to cause problems, I am here for the same reasons you are. more…
