Your Concrete Stage

Taqua

Be sure not to stand up or speak!
You must be quiet and discrete.

Don't show them what they wouldn't see.
Just move along and let them be.

A sign does fine to show to them,
If you need change to mend that hem.

Better hurry up; shake that cup!
When daddy needs a pick-me-up.

Smart for the ripe old age of six,
You already know all the tricks.

Don't stay here for a long while,
Or expect to get a smile.

Bare feet on the street know the rules,
Of a strong child facing fools.

No time to play, just turn the page,
No friends will share your concrete stage.
