You're Welcome

Chris Pearson 1977 (Winnipeg)

Welcome to a boring existence
Whiled away, forced to stay
To express your love
Give your strength
When their strength
Is what you're holding on to
They are enough, you're too much
Haunting their life
While you're still alive
Is it right
Is this the "supposed to" part
Gripping our soul, devoured whole
Only to feed for a day
Cannot be taught to feed for a lifetime
Build up regret equity bought with fear
Hedging bets against a market crash
Investing safely now
A labor of love
For all you hold dear
