You See Fear

There's a face in your mirror,
an image that will not pass.
And you watch as acid tears
trickle down behind the glass.

She stares at you through her pain,
and you see fear in her eyes.
Her haggard defeated face,
reflects a life built on lies.

Who could this tragic soul be,
she seems familiar to you?
Your heart reaches out to her,
yet there's nothing you can do.

All alone you feel her hurt,
it's like she's dying inside.
You can almost hear her thoughts,
contemplating suicide.

You suddenly turn away,
for your heart can take no more.
Maybe one day you will stay,
and watch her open death's door.
