You Can't

You might think you can
make me
show it all
but I’ll be
Damned
if I’ll show it a'toll.
Cause some rivers are hard to bridge
and some bridges are washed away.
Some waters are faster than
feelings can show. And bridges they sway.
Some feelings can’t make a bridge
to let the waters flow. They can
let the waters flow o're the dam

Five hours otta Baton Rouge, drivin’slow
but only ten minutes to that bar
just this side of Tupelo
the last place I saw her.

The truth be told an’t hard to tell
She’s just enough of a devil to make an angel cry
but with me she don’t need to try
she just enjoys givin’ a little hell.
