With you

I still see your eyes
 At first casual and playful
Pulling my attention and then my thoughts
 A careless captive yet consensual

 My thoughts became distracted
 Consciousness was at bay
 I found myself floating
Aware -but not caring as the world slipped away

A captive carried about as a balloon on a string
Bobbing and bouncing-floating over that which was once certain
My confusion was met with a glance- a giggle
When we will he know?– he may never see past the curtain

A spirit- a flame touched my soul
 Something that transcended
But now our bodies fell away
Revealing two spirits that embraced and touched

 But slowly we withdrew
The chilling air between us broke our embrace
 We resumed our defined roles
Though our hearts will never separate
