Wisdom's Delirium, Sailor on Fire

On this raft I made a garden
Each league of water watched it grow
When the sky dissolved above me
I gave it light from a painted soul
Now a tree is thrusting from it
It tipped my raft, I fell below
My bones like dust, cracked and plundered
Eternal myths beneath this flow
Then a creature rose to meet me
Ink came snaking from his throat
He called me to a blighted wasteland
Where strangled souls are left to bloat
From beneath me, a forgotten galleon
Rising like a winged float
I rose upon it, spirit soaring
Till I broke, 'midst waves and smoke
Spoke a voice on waves in darkness
Groans, as if in giving birth
Prepare ye soul for soaring/sinking
For that's the work upon this earth
