Why is love so cruel.

These ears
have heard a thousand lies.

These lips
have breathed a million sighs.

This heart has been hurt
countless times.

Fragments of glass lay on the ground
once so fragile, but now I'm broken.

Words unspoken
all I ever wanted was your happiness.

I tried to trust
I so longed to believe in impossible love.

You walked over splintered pieces
the remainders of my heart.

You tore our love apart
I can't give you any more.

You made your bed
no tears I'll shed.

I can not cry any more
you took me for a fool

Why is love so cruel.
