Whirlpool

Sunil Bhatia 1971 (Allahabad)

The great sorrow arose
From the infinite depths
Of the whirlpool.

There were episodes of life
That poured out,
Bit by bit.

From the hollows of dark matter,
Churning a million wishes,
Crushed by the force of nature.

None could escape this manifestation.

It was everpresent,
Omnipotent
And effervecent.

One day the power of the unknown
Released white doves of peace
From the whirlpool,

Sending vanquished souls
To their final destination.
In their desire, more passed the way,

There was no escape
From the inescapable,
The irreversable.

It was the inevitable route
To the cobbled path
In the winding road

To heaven.
