Where Should I Stand?

Sometimes while sitting or standing alone;
Sometimes when chatting with you on the phone.
It happens sometimes when we're out in a group
Listening to music or working 'til two.
I poke and I ponder with each playful jest.
Just where do I stand with you, should I guess?
I feel like I'm gazing at you through a glass;
Like shopping for treasures without any cash.
Like Wendy with Peter within Never-Land.
Such fun and excitement, what adventures they had.
Then quickly awaking with nothing in hand,
I wonder exactly, just where do I stand?
Expressions of fondness, a tender embrace
Or decorous endorsement and reticent gape.
Official or friendly, ascetic or snug
Utter bewilderment, should I go on?
Lately, yes often, I wonder and ask
When with you exactly just where should I stand?

David Marion

I am merely a passionate soul, experiencing love in all the wrong and right places. The challenges of life are the paints in my pallet. My art and my writing are the brushes which help to spread the love, joy and pain I experience across the canvas of my life. My passion is to inspire all whom I encounter, in word or in person, to move from where they are, to where God has designed them uniquely to be. "Each person was created as the solution to a problem that God knew would exist." more…
