When The Sun Shines

This morning I watched as the sun illuminated the sky
Words cannot fully capture the wonder but I’ll try.
As the sun slowly rose, so did the smile on my face
At the thought of you, whom I long to embrace.
My life has greatly changed since the moment we met
Throughout my life, you I will never once forget.
The love you have shown has blessed my heart
I know our friendship now is only just the start.
Each morning I rise I give thanks for you
Wherever life leads, our friendship will continue.
I pray for strength as it continues to grow
That all the love I have will truly show.
I feel your compassion when you hold me so tight
Being your friend makes each day more bright.
God will always be with you, you are His pride
He’d proudly walk with you by His side.
He’s not ashamed of who He’s made you to be
His presence in you, others always see.
Your worth has not been captured by the words I’ve told
The meaning of your life, no words could possibly hold.
The sun begins to set but I still know
That even in darkness your light will show.
The beauty of your heart radiates the smile on your face
Know throughout my life, you’ll have a special place.
When the sun shines so your smile illuminates the earth
It’s heaven’s way of celebrating your birth.
When I asked God for a companion to send
I did not imagine I’d be blessed with you as a friend.
Whenever the sun rises and sets, I will look to the sky
and be assured when apart you are still close by.
