When Pigs

When pigs dance,
They always bring the chickens along.
When pigs swim,
Their friends the ducks are invited.
When pigs crawl,
Beetles make good company and coach them.
When pigs dine,
Nobody but a pig is allowed to join in.
When pigs hide,
Brown cows are the loveliest lookouts.
But when pigs fly,
The only one who sees them is me, because,
I taught them.

My poetic journey began with a gift for my dad- a poem I had slaved over to write, telling him he was my knight in shining armor. That was many years ago, and now, I speak in rythym and rhyme as easily as anything.
