When Lightning Strikes

Miss Gracie rides only metal bikes,
Plain and dry, not the kind to marry,
As safe from fire as a parched prairie,
Best run for cover, when lightning strikes!

Silly Billy does as he likes!
Venus sees you roll those eyes!
She makes fools of the wise.
Run before the lightning strikes!

Miss Gracie’s glasses might weigh a ton,
But she can't see the dark clouds dashing.

Billy doesn't worry, when he hears thunder
The hit and run kind; love’s not his blunder.

He’s walking slow, when this bike comes crashing.
She falls in his arms, as lightning starts flashing.
