What A Drag

Chris Pearson 1977 (Winnipeg)

WHAT A DRAG

long days
like razorblades
cutting deep
with lack of sleep
and dreams
are what you bleed
mistake want with need
suspend
your disbelief
abandon
your relief

hours crawl
across broken glass
on naked knees
pain is tease
to please is last
the moment's passed
too fast to see
and that is all
it shall ever be
