Well, There It Is

Cruise control down the highway, headed for revival
All alone , she wouldn’t come
She coulda done a whole lot better and
Lord knows I a whole lot worse
So now , she comes all laughin and happy and
Actin like she’s gone
Give me something to think about
I already have had enough
So tired of the feelin
That this is the meaning of all of it
And when’s it gonna end
Well there it is, its been there all along
The bottles almost empty but the
Burns just as strong It helps the feeling last
but smoothes the bumps along the way
so why do the thing if it
just prolongs the pain
cause it’s a habit that works even
if its broke so don’t try
to fix something you’ll
 only make it worse
just cause I done it first don’t make it right
Just because I’m wrong don’t mean you have to be
Well there it is laid out pick it up if you can stand the truth

Why keep on doin it when you know
it‘ll be the death of you
Cause your so tired you think of the end and smile
And the reasons to quit make you sad for the rest
You don’t want to take another test
The rest seems like a long time to sleep and you smile
and are happy to go on Doing the things that shorten
the toils that make you so weary
and make the end a little nearer
Well, there it is
