Watching Rebecca Grow

You were born on my birthday; it could not have been greater,

Even though they say you should have been born two weeks later,

I held you for the first time when you were only a few minutes old,

But even then I knew it was going to be fun watching Rebecca grow,

When your Dad was born, I thought that was great,

When you Aunt Jennifer was born, we almost waited too late.

You're bright eyes, you're smile and you're cute little laugh,

Would be something we can remember as the time will pass,

You learned to sit up, to stand, and even to take your first step,

With all the love and care from the ones around you could help.

Very soon you will have a birthday and you will be one year old,

And even now I know it is so much fun watching Rebecca grow.

This is an on going poem that is not yet complete and will be added

to as we go, because we have not yet stopped watching Rebecca grow.
