Wasted

Wasted with you
Wasted without you
And the truth is I'm trapped.
Tripped up every day on triviality.
Banality clogging my veins.
But to fall at this hurdle
Would that be such a waste.
Because I have tasted something
So close to special,
So steeped in splendour,
That I have become dazzled!
My brain frazzled!
Clawing at my skin for the next fix
My emotions addled
Like an addict in an alleyway

I'm crazed at the notion that I've lost myself.
Myself in another
In a lover who lifted me once so high
That the sky touched my brow.
I never wanted to come down
But i've fell through the clouds
And he cant take me back.
The Balloon has burst
And the pedestal has toppled.
How ever much hot air we blow
Those thermals, it seems, are not eternal.

So.
Do I stay?
Do I continue to play this charade
Of complacency?
Lying to him and to myself.
Festering here on the shelf
Of comfort and familiarity.
Languishing in a life thats as much of my own
As the throne he once placed me on.
Or do I run?
Take to my heels
Till the skin on my feet peels
And the hole in my heart heals.

I cant decide, I cant decide!
I've tried and tripped too many times.
So lets get wasted again my love
Because I always love you more when we fly.
The clouds come back to the sky
And my mind hides the lie.
When we waste our lives away.
