Waiting in a hurry

Waiting in a hurry and restless in a line,
Counting the seconds and being pushed from behind,
Impatient.

Standing in the elevator and staring at nothing,
Oblivious of everyone, thinking of one thing,
Impatient.

Traffic lights are red but the mind remains green,
Anxious at the time it takes, eternity it seems,
Impatient.

Always in a hurry to get to a destination,
Everyone an obstacle, apparent source of my frustration,
Impatient.

This poem is far too long, too many words for my clock,
Better to stop now or my readers will be in shock,
Impatient.
