Velvet Silk and Blue-Gold White

Dark shaded wings fly
Faster than the human eye.
Nix rules the heavens,
Bedecked in pale diamonds;
Reflecting heat fires of earth.
Man watches day fade
In the passionate splendor of wildfire sunset.
Velvet silk from blue-gold white,
Light into darkness--
Death of day, birth of night.
Man sleeps, wild beasts wake,
Until the sun conquers night
And blue-gold returns
In pale fervor of sunrise.
Man wakes, Helios rules.
The sun crests white wool clouds
And Nix bides her time again--
Shaded wings, battle of dawn--
When day will rise victorious
With bright blue-gold fire.
