Unkind Joke

Raised from the youth
I am misplaced among the living
Captured by stress and traffic
I release my anger amongst the crowd
Repressed, my feelings of bitterness wait
In time, I start the wheels of frustration
And my lightly toasted skin turns red
Deep red like the fury that awaits
Joking and faking a conversation
Waiting and waiting, SNAP
I have a target and they do not even know
They woke up this morning chipper and all
Three kids, a good husband, and Jesus
Kind, warm-hearted, and deserving
But they are none of these
Because I am hypnotized by the city's filth
I get closer and honk to distract
Get out of my car, gun in hand
And from this anger I have
I begin to react
