Two Sides Pt. 1

Allyson

Tell them of my anger,
tell them of my faults,
of my assumptions, and one-sided thoughts.
Tell them everything that's mean.

- - It's my fault.

Do tell them I broke your heart,
time and time again.
Do tell them I broke your heart,
from the beginning, til the end.

Tell them how I've cried and begged,
let them call me desperate.
Tell them how I cry and beg forgiveness,
through text, and through call.

Please only focus on the negative aspects of me.

Don't tell them I've loved you since the second you came along,
tripping through the door.
Or how our hearts connected that night at the park,
or the bubbly feeling you got days later.

Don't tell them how you've inspired my art since before we met,
since before I had even heard your voice.
Or how I have to sacrifice, or how you helped save my life.
Breathing life back into me, in more than one way.

Don't tell them I treated you like a princess,
with roses, sweet nothings, and little things here and there.
Or how even when we were angry,
I still tried to make things better, and apologized, and pleaded.

Don't tell them I connected with your family,
or the dinners and laughs, and corny jokes we all shared.
Don't tell them how I opened up to my family,
with the strength and courage you gave me, just holding my hand.

Please tell them none of this matters, because of the pain.

Tell them I'm a waste of time,
and don't stand up for me when I need.
Tell them I'm not worthy of love,
because words can mean just that.

-- It's my fault.

Don't tell them we shared every detail of our lives,
and how we picked out wedding things.
Or how I'm trying to better myself, getting help finally.
and please, don't tell them I didn't love you.
