Twilight In The Woods

The placid light
Of
The silvery moon
Peeped
Softly through the trees
And
At their feet
It's dappled light
Danced shadows in the breeze
A snow-white owl
Flew slowly
O'er the gentle trickling
Stream
Gliding in the softened light
Of a
Motttled pale moonbeam
It
Settled on the folly
By
The pathway in the wood
Where under
Starry sky's above
A
Herd of roe deer stood
A rustling
In the undergrowth an hedghog
Snuffles through
The old fox slivers
Quitely by
Melting far from view
Badgers
Frolic by their sett
Neath swaying willow trees
And
Bats are darting through the air
Going
Where they please
Nearby
There's a warren where rabbits
Live and play
They'd rather feed by moonlight
Than
Eat by light of day
Other creatures to are roaming
Through these woods
At night
All contently sharing
The glow
Of the
Pale moonlight.
