True Conviction

Many things we talk about
serve merely to disguise.
The plainly true conviction is how we live our lives.
Homilies from the pulpit
serve as stale platitudes.
The plainly true conviction is found in attitudes.
Counsel giving therapies
serve swiftly as a mire.
The plainly true conviction is bona fide desire.
Avuncular doting rules
serve to enforce appeals.
The plainly true conviction is displayed by ideals.
Religious admonitions
serve sham hypocrisy.
The plainly true conviction is authenticity.
Many things we talk about
serve merely to disguise.
The plainly true conviction is how we live our lives.
