Tomorrow
How shall I let tomorrow begin?
Like yesterday- and the day before?
Shall I let that which defines me –be?
Or shall I become something more?
Shall I become courageous?
Dare I slay the dragons I have always feared?
Where will this strength
I have never had appear?
Dare I assume a cause?
Of righteousness and need
Become the spokesman-the warrior
But where will the compassion come I shall pay heed?
Maybe an artist
Expressing thoughts and visions
The touchstone of a generation
But how do you see tomorrow if today is confusion
No- maybe today and tomorrow
Will look like yesterday and the day before
These thoughts I have had before
And always left them on the floor
