Today

I just felt like writing today;
Problem is I have nothing to say.
Everything within me is sour;
Perhaps I've long past my hour.

Sometimes this world gets me down,
And I can't find a backwards frown.
Often I feel alone and lost;
Lord knows I've paid the cost.

Just when I think I'm on top,
I trip and take quite a flop.
Nothing anymore makes much sense,
And I've about ran out of defense.

Perhaps my blood now runs cold.
That or I'm just getting old.
The future may not look so bright,
But in me is still one good fight.

I'm not one to lie around or sit;
Be damned if I'll ever quit.
I'll find a way to survive,
And some how I learn to thrive.

So today I may feel blue,
But tomorrow the day is new.
Look out! I'm not going down.
One day, I'll be back around.
