To Write is to Lie
To write is to lie,
to spin circles
around those who
listen, weaving
and waving the truth
until it is something
out of a fairytale,
a voice changed
from solid
to unsure, stripped
of its own
confidence.
To write is to beg
for novel concepts,
to push the
opposite sides
of magnets
together, before
everything falls
to pieces,
holding and hoping
that your intricate,
silky string somehow
holds strong.
