To Persevere
We are afraid of the dark
when we should fear the light,
for many things hide in the dark
but then come out in the light.
Bringing the monsters to day
is harder than leaving them to night,
for when they come to day,
they refuse to go back to the night.
Choosing to be blind
is easier than living with sight,
for no fear finds the blind,
and all evil terrifies those in sight.
It is far simpler to sleep in peace
than to wake up and fight,
for you evade Death in peace,
but stare him in the face to fight.
