To My Goddesses

To My Goddesses :

My strong Steady Goddess,
Lift that head,
Looking down,
With it leaning that way,
The world cannot appreciate your crown,

Those tears are your virtue,
They don't mean your weak,
You are just a bit tired,
Even stone temples leak,

Now put on your make-up,
And line those eyes well,
So they hold up to a hurricane,
And show,
You can still give em hell,

And a crimson red lip,
To let the world see,
That you do what you have to,
To remain as steady,
As a wise Oak tree,

And put of that fashion,
That makes them turn heads,
Take a second,
Then third Look,
Before a word can be said,

And then with those stilettos,
Strap em up tight,
Cause you are a warrior queen,
Always ready to fight.

And walk out each morning,
Ready to make the world your own,
Cause you are a queen among divas,
Born to set your own tone.

Dustin Atwood

My name is Dustin, I am 29 but it feels as if I am a lot older by due of wear and tear.I credit this, to the way I write.I discovered Poetry, when I was 16 in high school. It was a way for me, to put my emotions on paper and get then out of my head. Time went on, and I discovered that using poetry, was in a sense my release from this world. I have struggled with sexuality, loss, depression, anxiety, self doubt, you will find these things in my writing.I like to think my writing is my souls dialogue. It is a voice that maybe the outside me, would never have the courage to say.It is things that have happened that many don't know, a sort of secret side of me. I hope you enjoy! more…
