To My American Love ~ On Our Engagement (by Deborah Rose)

The ring you gave me, the promise breathed will forever live
The love and gentleness from you that I receive
Will outlive thousands of stars and forever be
That love that's always been in my heart, in me...

That ring that binds us, that band that seals our love
The forever and always that will remain with me
On that same shore, on that cliff we see
To take me to into that peace of just being us, we.

I loved you in thousands of ways, and all that I am
all left behind love for which on earth I came
you embraced me with more that I could ever wish for
And with each passing day I love you more and more..
