To Differ

Let it be known to the pickpocket of verse,
the dragnet of truth, is the keyword, order the hearse,
bury their shame, let the world attend their wake,
we change our verse, to lure them.. they always take the bait.

One hit wonders, sing the same songs,
as writers of verse, we know the tines from tridents prongs,
retain a stolen heartbeat, only to have it broken.
Pray.. keep your silence, we cannot hear the word spoken,
even on still water, the kiss of the dragonfly is like thunder,
as you and I..  with bated breath, do watch with wonder.
