Times

As a nation we went through a hellish time,
Looking deep into the eyes of death, and crying
Till our hearts numbed, and tears froze,
But we went on trying, we went on trying.
As a nation again, we rose as one
United in sorrow to face the quake's brunt,
Grit and valour marked these worst of times
When extraordinary feats became a daily grind.
Though we cannot make the sorrow and pain go away
Our collective losses, we'll live with, everyday
We must still find a reason to start over new
Try to smile through our tears, celebrate the joys- though few.
The seasons of the sun are ruled by dictates divine.
And amid the pain, he also showed us the best of times
When the rigid barrier across the enemy lines,
Lay decimated and totally undefined
Hatred forgotten, and the gates opened
Proving to all, specially the unbelieving kind
That the lust for power which motivates man,
Is unimportant than capturing the natural beauty of a land.
