Time-Lapse Moments

Open shock wandered these casual glances;
placed under a derelict sky's confines,
belief stuttered - grasped for another breath
while shrugs captured these branched-out shoulders.

To think that quiet death has caught up here,
you would be wrong in that cold assumption
for I only rest beneath sleep's comfort,
imagery can and always will deceive eyes
not prepared to look deep into nature -
further along veins that pulse solitude
towards clouds scattering the wet distance,
between this cool purpose and your lost thoughts.

Cycles of fine life are time-lapse moments,
blink if you must but don't mourn the action,
look once more and feel the powerful scene.
