Hanging on the rings
the trapezist stays his "dive"
till the harvest time.
Pulling all the strings
the puppeteer stays his "strive"
till the harvest time.
Hurling by the slings
the glider chief stays his "drive"
till the harvest time.
Stirring up the flings
the reveler stays his "blithe"
till the harvest time.
Dancing to the swings
the performer stays his "jive"
till the harvest time.
Waiting in the wings
the grim reaper stays his "scythe"
till the harvest time.
