Throw Me Into The World

Throw me out into the world
And find these women are no longer little girls
As a full grown woman from the choices she makes
But beware the moving shadows
They're of a filthy, lusty mind, make no mistake

With the shadows of the night
Or the clouds of the day
I try to show you with all my might
Somehow, someway, I'll make you see someday

You light my fire
make me feel alright
You're my morning light
My reason for life

If you want me, stand up
If you need me, raise your arms
If you love me, shout it out
Cause right now
I'm dancinng & I'm screaming

Joseph Shofner

I'm 17, soon to turn 18 this Summer. I'm going to college to become a Geologist this Summer & following Fall. I like writing poems, but I've somewhat stopped in the past month or so. But in the time I did write (For about 6 months - 1 year) I wrote several hundred, most of which I "fixed" by making them better. Most of my poems are about love, as love is a very important (but not prominent) thing in my life. I believe love is an expression of the best of things, and poetry is an expression of love, so with poetry I express my love (Since I can't in other ways) I'll try to publish a poem a day (Maybe more, as I have them written down, but have to re-type them all when publishing them onto here) Also I'm working on a booklet of around 30-50 of my best poems re-mastered to try & win a girl I like over. I don't know who she is, as the school year is about over, but I'm sure I'll meet someone at college who appreciates it as much as I do. Any questions/ want to talk message me at joealexshof@yahoo.com more…
