This Step I Take

This step I take, though known by none
Soon leads me to my Father's door
And through Him all will be undone
To end this now forever more

This step I take, though gone not still
Will come to pass without a sense
And given gifts of choice and will
For no more life of consequence

This step I take, though with regret
Be not your burdens anymore
Yet be it not that you forget
The person that I was before

This step I take, though night be dim
Shall lead me to a lightened path
Before the bless-ed foot of Him
Enduring either Love or Wrath.
