This Perpetual Night
Touch my fingers, and
tell me the truth,
the one that’s been
hidden, in my perpetual night.
Watch the stars with me
as they swipe the clouds,
windshield wipers in our minds
as well, showing us the sun.
The sky brightens with
light we never knew was there,
light we never expected
to shine with such brilliance.
Through my endless night, and
your fragile eternity of
darkness, we stand
together, wondering what comes next.
I know the time is not
now, let us wait,
time will be our star, shining
brighter in our tears than the sun.
