Thirst Valleys

On the path a passerby drinks up the rain.
Trees of green leaves and smooth barked trunks upright drank the earth again.
The trenches with valleys starving, the clouds let go of the rain.
The valleys took splattering drinks letting go of mud to the passerby the same.
The passerby cupped his hands then took a drink and brushed his pants.
Though no longer thirsty he would thirst again when the valley dries and he sees black working ants.
When thirst dies the valleys starve amongst the sun.
His day has yet to see the valley's thirst had won.
Oh mother, mother earth where is pleasantness for the valleys, por favor?
For they are empty and starving as if they have gone to war.
Left nature about them lamenting, por favor.
Now I cannot guess what these two hands I use as a cup is for.
