These eyes

I can not let him see
into these eyes
that are filled with sorrow
for I know he will see
I have no hope for tomorrow

eyes that were full
of love and as bright as the sun
are now filled with pain
and are as dark as the
late hours of the night
without the moon to
shed any light

eyes that were blue as
the deepest sea
filled with bliss
that anyone could see
are now as gray
as a stormy day
filled with doughs and fears
of surviving till tomorrow
