Then As It Is Now

When Jesus went to jerusalem, He openly wept, For there In that city, words of his coming were kept,
The men There were so religious, they fasted and prayed everyday, They all followed ritual they knew no other way,
So When their own Saviour came among them, they did not recognize, So set in their ways and righteous, they wouldn't believe their own eyes,
He Performed miracles never before seen, He said things That had never before been,
But as it was then, so it Is today, We have gone back, to doing it our own way,
It does not have to be in scriptue, it just has to feel Right, Oh my dear brothers, we can hide nothing from his Sight,
Everyone is worried, about an office or their Standing, But an accounting for the lost, Jesus will Soon be demanding,
It is so easy to look back, and see The others mistakes, What I see right now, how my Heart it breaks,
Preachers preaching money, how God Will fill your accounts, Just give them your money, in Greater and greater amounts,
There are so many issues, I wont get into them all, But as sure as you think You stand, beware lest you fall,
There is a book on Your shelf, when is the last time you read, Before you Trust anothers words, open it and see what God said.

Troy Kaneer

I have been writing for about 20 years. Found I could rhyme a little and still say something. Was led to use this for the Glory of God and His Son my Saviour. I do write some personal poems but it seems that God gets in those too. It is appropriate though because He is my life. more…
