The Walk
The Walk
The man wobbled down the darkened street
while the wind buckled his knees to his feet
the sleet pounded off the tarnished brick walls
where he reached out for fear he might fall.
Yet he was constant with each scripted stride
as the weather worsened in the sky outside
he disappeared like sunset through the air
as I took in every step as I curiously stared.
I do not know where the man wanted to go
as he juddered through the sleet and snow
I want to believe the man is safe and well
and hope he makes it to the place he dwells.
