The Stone In My Path

Being codependent is a lot of pain,
And I don't know when it started,
I always found a stone in my path
Which left me brokenhearted.

I knew that God could heal my hurts,
I had no doubt about it,
But there always was that stone in my
path, What could I do about it?

I prayed and prayed to just hang loose
And let God take my worries and fears,
I knew that He could and wanted to,
Then the stone in my path reappears.

Why can't I let God do the work, I
wondered, just what could it be?
Then, finally, I realized the truth,
The stone in my path was me.
